ok so hears the deal, a few years back cambridge and its surrounding citys had a few good websites with a load of history from the past 20 years, all the sites were active with hits on the guestbooks and forums everyday, massive range of flicks from tags to burners and interviews etc. the sites we have now are lame and now that the cambridge graffiti scene is picking up again i think someone should do something about it. if anyones intrested in contributing to a new cambridge site or shows any intrest whatsoever leave messages on here and it will happen. with most writers using flickr fotolog etc now there is no reason that all these flicks couldnt be put in one place and show cambridge graffiti off again. sorry graffwars for using your space to advertise but fuck it your site has gottn so lame recently and someone needs to do something!

No heres the deal......... Graffwars back when it started was originally made as a cambridge graff site back in 2002-2003, not as an archive for the whole of cambridge graff just as a present thing and it sucessfully did that. But if you bothered to read the about page youll see that i have less time to update lately and it also states that graffwars is now not only cambridge but worldwide. knowone is craving a cambridge graff webstie so dont kid yourself that they are. So you do something by all means, make a website, but atleast know what it is your saying before coming on here complaining. I wish you good luck.

Ive just read over your message again and id be happy to help you get together a cambridge update, but it requires effort from more than just 2 people, Its just down to time really, being out of the country makes it hard to keep the site fresh and that probably answers your question as to why it has become so "lame" lately. Email me at bridgegraff@hotmail.co.uk if you wanna sort an update or even a side project focusing on jsut cambridge graff and well sort something out. Peace. - Graffwars -

no graffwars you missed the point, cambridge has had good sites in the past but like i said they had graffiti from the towns and citys close by aswell norwich, lynn, bedford etc the point being cambridge as a center point but as a whole eastanglia. people need to send their pictures to you rather than getting pictures for yourself i would be more than happy to get together with you to sort something out but in my view it need to be a fresh start for the east of england.

I think more time needs to be spent painting and building the scene back up again in reality rather than on the internet.
Graffwars will never die and I'm sure will continue to show the best Cambridge graff for years to come. The first 2 updates alone make this site worth visiting again and again.
But cg if you think you can do it then go for it, best of luck. I would suggest getting in touch with all the writers on flickr, fotolog etc etc individually instead of expecting them to come to you after posting here. It would help if you had pics of your own to start off too. peace, A.

yeah i think you could be right about giving it time but im sure even if a handfull of people were to send in a selection of their fotos then it could have a good start. graffwars im sure will always be there but i know im not just speaking for myself when i say more regular updates would be nice even if smaller, graffiti sites should be more about photos of walls etc rather than a fancy layout?

cambridge will never be the graffiti city it was for 2 main reasons. 1. the lack of good places to paint now, slowly over the past 10 or so years all the hofs have been built on or knocked down and with only a handfull of good walls etc it can never be the place it was. 2.all the new writers that spring up across the city never want to start at the bottom anymore so before they can paint a simple dub they are trying to paint wildstyles that they may be pleased with but to be honist are shit, graffiti to almost all the people i know is about letters and nobody seems to want to do that anymore they just want to go crazy but with no proper letter form its no more than a pritty pattern! the toys know who they are! over the past 20 years cambridge has had a great number of writers come up and pass through but the way things are at the moment it will never be the same again, the remaining 2 hofs will be gone before you know it then the rest is history. dont get me wrong there are still some nice pieces/dubs getting put up in cambridge but does cambridge really need another site showing how bad it is now and how good it was 10 years ago? graffit is about paint on walls/steel etc not how fancy you can make a web page look.
